The days of cheap oil are over

Posted by joelbyer on November 18, 2008

We know this because experts frequently told us this throughout this summer.

It’s over.

Don’t ever expect cheap prices again. It’s the consensus, everyone knows what is obviously true, and we should readjust our thinking to this new permanent reality. Just type in this phrase “cheap oil are over” with the quotation marks in to Google and see the results you get. See? It’s so clear you’d be stupid not to see the light.

Except, oil as of today, is below $55.

Isn’t there a lesson we can draw from this?
What other areas of our belief system (political, theological, etc.) are so glaringly obvious that they don’t need to be even questioned? Um, but aren’t actually true?

Any thoughts?
