Yet another new blogger look

Posted by joelbyer on August 31, 2007

After withstanding a hail of negative criticism, BBB has again upgraded its looks. (OK, maybe “hail of negative criticism” is exaggerating, but never let FACTS get in the way of good blog post.)

Well anyway, for all of you struggling with arachnophobia, this story is for you.

Birthday party – a miserable failure

Posted by joelbyer on August 30, 2007

This at least, according to Jeffrey. 🙂 Today is my wife’s birthday (see more below), and Jeffrey watched with increasing anxiety as my wife opened the gifts….

And no toys!!!

Toys, as any 5 year old boy knows, makes or breaks a birthday party. He burst into tears when he realized there  was going to be no toys.img_5050.jpg Happy Birthday Sweetheart! I love you very much! I’m so glad you’re in my life. I’m so thankful for your unconditional love, respect and support for me.

These pictures of Zachary are photos that have been taken of Zachary. I call them “Zach’s pix”. See post below for context and explanation of these  photographs of Z.A.P. And now I’m going to get killed.  🙂2271.jpg229.jpg

It’s Alan

Posted by joelbyer on August 28, 2007

According to a very reliable source (my father-in-law, see comment in post below), it’s Zachary Alan Paulus. No, I don’t have a picture yet, but here’s a photo of a cute puppy. Probably Zachary is as cute as this 🙂

Zachary Allen

Posted by joelbyer on August 27, 2007

Or is it Zachary Allen? Anyway, here at BBB we are on the cutting edge of breaking news.
So what I’m telling you is…my sister in law just had a baby boy! Congratulations to Stefan and Stephanie Paulus!

Fall Flowers

Posted by joelbyer on August 24, 2007

For our anniversary, I got my wife some silk fall flowers since she is already in a “fall” mood. I more or less arranged them myself. (No I’m not planning to crochet her doilies for Christmas.)

Our 5-year old Jeffrey went to the dentist today for 2 cavities. YIKES! Anyway, my wife and I thank the Lord that he was able to put up with the drilling and so on, and not have to visit a dental surgeon…which would probably be mega bucks. And yeah, he already has 2 cavities. He’s probably taking after me 😦

In other unrelated news…folks…it looks like the great blogging poll is over. Angie Davis ran away with everything…primarily because she manipulated the voters, but hey, I’m not bitter :-).

Here’s my top 5 blogs in a top-5 countdown:

5) Keith Waggoner – great sense of humour. Don’t know him real well, but his foot picture was a classic.

4) Paul Peterson – former fellow quartet member…we shared many a memory…some of them even good! 🙂

3) Angie Davis – blogs often, boosts BBB readership, former Canadian (explains her greatness)

2) Jon Plank – blogging trailblazer from way back when …kind of a grandfatherly figure to us junior bloggers.

1) Tim Calhoun – what can I say? He’s all that I aspire to be in a blogger… mainly due to his extremely immature sense of humour and blurry, irrelevant pictures.

Blogger Pool Results as of this moment…

Posted by joelbyer on August 22, 2007

BBB Update: Apparently, one of my BBB staffers very foolishly edited a statement of mine that all of you people weren’t supposed to vote for me. So my none-too-subtle attempts to berate you for not voting for me…well…it is understandable, I guess. (Needless to say, this staffer has been permanently eliminated….to another blog of course. You didn’t think I was the Mafia or something, did you? Shame on you!)  So people, don’t vote for me, then, OK? After all, here at BBB command, we are the most humble of all people.

Ahh…and here you thought I meant to say poll. Don’t you feel silly. That’s just what you get for being so critical of typo’s. Anyway, the poll results so far:

Ezra Byer – 1

Joel Byer – .83 (due to K. Waggoner’s rather lukewarm endorsement, plus half a vote from another partially enthused voter)

Titus Byer – 1 (nominated by George Bush himself!)

Tim Calhoun – 1

Carrie Carter -1

Martha Castle – 1

Angie Davis -9

Malcolm Donaldson – 1

Travis Johnson -1.5 (.5 coming from my good friend George)

Jon Plank – .33 (see: Joel Byer’s vote)

Keith Waggoner – 1

The problem with this highly scientific BBB poll, is that people vote in the strangest ways. Some tried to vote more than once. Even George Bush tried. The Cassady’s tried saying, “Angie, Angie, Angie” in hopes that this would get her 3 votes. (It didn’t. She’s overrated enough.) Keith Waggoner, however, voted for 3 different people, but this doesn’t matter because he mentioned BBB as one of his votes. Rest assured, BBB will be scrupulously honest throughout this whole voting process.

I hate getting beaten by a girl.

However, to quote that great American, King George III. I HAVE YET BEGUN TO FIGHT! Keep voting, people.

Number 8

Posted by joelbyer on August 21, 2007

Anyway, speaking of Blueberry Cobbler coffee, today my wife and I went to Golden Corral.

Why, you ask?

It was our 8th wedding anniversary, silly! 🙂

 Seriously, it’s been a great 8 years, Sweetheart. I

you very much!

Blueberry Cobbler Coffee

Posted by joelbyer on August 21, 2007

Keep the fav’ blog comments coming, folks! So far it looks like Angie Davis had developed quite a following. I’m OK with that. Just because she stole all her brilliant blogging ideas off me…I can live with that. 🙂

Anyway, last evening, I had blueberry cobbler flavoured coffee. (I just bought I new flavoured creamer.) It was great stuff! You might want to notice how I so smoothly transition from one topic to the next.

Yeah, it’s one of my gifts.
