This is what happens when you call someone’s name, they whirl around, and you take their picture. Stephanie will probably kill me for posting this picture, but it will have been worth it.

I have quite a few nice pictures from Stevie’s graduation, but who likes to look at boring pictures! I prefer pictures with character. Here’s one with Stevie and his 4 current and future brothers-in-law. As you can tell, I married into a very immature family. Thankfully, my deep sobriety and wisdom keeps them in line.

Can’t stop preaching

Posted by joelbyer on May 28, 2006

We’re down in Pennsylvania this weekend for Stevie’s graduation. Last night I was asked to speak at the Evangelical Methodist Church in Richfield, PA for Sunday evening service. Rev. Aaron McCarty – my former PVBI roommate – pastors there.
It all goes to show that even when taking a weekend off, I still can’t stop preaching :-).
Seriously, it’s just great to work for the Lord

We’ve Arrived

Posted by joelbyer on May 26, 2006

Just a quick note to let everyone know that we are know at Jen’s parents’ place in Penns Creek, PA. Know a truly terrifying thought? My mother-in-law is less than 100 feet away as I type. I’m trying to stay calm.

Our family is headed by camel caravan this morning to PA where we will be attending Jen’s brother’s graduation from High School. Yes, he is that old already. 🙂
Last week, my future brother-in-law graduated from GBS in Cincinnati, OH.

Congratulations Matt & Stevie!

OK, I suppose this picture could use a little explanation. First of all, Jeffrey and Janessa have an inflatable McDonald’s “restaurant” play-house thingy. Anyway, with this, there was an inflatable hamburger. This scared Janessa so she started crying. Janessa’s crying got Jeffrey crying. So what does my wife do? She gets a camera.

Bush visits Canada

Posted by joelbyer on May 23, 2006

This last weekend, Bush (see picture) made a quick trip to Ottawa on Fed Ex One. Tackling such difficult health issues as bird flu, “mad crow” and, avian internal diseases (AIDS), Bush didn’t really appear to be himself, according to one senior Ottawa official.
“His agenda is truly for the birds”, said one opposition party leader, “I think he’s just winging it.”
Other critics charge him with being too narrow-minded and not having a birds-eye view of things.
But Harper strongly defended Bush, “Look if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck…it’s a penguin”, he said. Harper, who has often been accused of parroting Bush, was obviously in a fowl mood.
